Immigration Ladies FC have secured a long-awaited return to the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League after four years away, following a determined and hard-fought campaign in the second tier. Their qualification marks a significant milestone for the club, reflecting resilience and steady progress in a competitive women’s football landscape.
The team sealed promotion by winning the Women’s Regional Zonal Championship play-off held at the Tuba Astro Turf. This decisive victory capped an impressive run and confirmed their place among Ghana’s elite women’s football clubs for the 2025/26 season.
Immigration Ladies’ journey was anything but straightforward. They opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Essiam Ladies, suffered a heavy 7-1 defeat to Sissamba Ladies, but quickly regrouped to secure a 2-0 win over Adidome Unity Ladies and an emphatic 4-0 triumph against Blaco Soccer Queens. A crucial 1-1 draw with league leaders Rootz Sistaz FC further demonstrated their ability to compete with the very best.
Despite early setbacks, the team showed remarkable character, bouncing back from defeat to string together results that kept their promotion hopes alive. Their consistency in key moments and ability to respond under pressure proved vital in navigating the challenges of the campaign.
With promotion now secured, Immigration Ladies FC join Rootz Sistaz FC in the Women’s Premier League for the upcoming season. The club will now turn its focus to strengthening the squad and preparing for the demands of top-flight football, as they aim not just to compete, but to establish themselves among Ghana’s leading women’s teams once again.
