The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is pleased to announce that Black Stars player Francis Abu has successfully undergone surgery for the fracture of two bones he sustained during the match against Japan. The surgery, performed at Toyota Memorial Hospital in Japan, was a collaborative effort between Dr. Prince Pambo, Head of Medical for the Black Stars, his colleagues from Toulouse FC, and the surgical team.

The acute phase of Abu’s rehabilitation has commenced, and a physiotherapist will stay with him to provide intensive physiotherapy sessions. Plans are also in place for a senior member of the technical team to accompany Abu to his home base in France after his discharge from the hospital.

The GFA extends its gratitude to everyone who supported them during this challenging time, particularly the Black Stars management and technical team. The association looks forward to continued support as Abu undergoes rehabilitation to ensure his full recovery and return to the pitch.
