Following the discussions, the Ministry expressed optimism about the way forward, stating, “We had conversations on critical issues affecting the sector. I am confident we would see some positive movements soon.” This statement reflects growing collaboration between the government and private sector players like MTN Ghana in addressing concerns that impact service delivery and consumer experience.
MTN Ghana, as the country’s largest telecommunications provider, plays a pivotal role in advancing digital connectivity and financial inclusion. With Ghana’s digital economy rapidly expanding, partnerships between government institutions and industry leaders are essential in ensuring that the sector remains competitive and responsive to technological advancements.

The Ministry’s engagement with MTN Ghana formed part of a broader series of discussions with stakeholders in the communications industry. In addition to meeting with MTN, the Ministry also engaged the National Communications Authority (NCA) Staff Association on regulatory matters and staff welfare. “I also engaged the National Communications Authority Staff Association to discuss issues about the National Communications Authority Ghana and staff welfare. I am excited about our future engagements,” the Ministry noted.
Furthermore, the Ministry met with the Executives of the Ghana eSports Federation to explore emerging opportunities in digital sports. With the eSports industry growing globally, Ghana is looking to position itself as a key player in this space. The Ministry emphasized, “It is extremely important that as a nation, we begin to explore and invest in non-traditional sport disciplines. The potential exists, and we must support them for growth.”
