Yeloo Care: MTN Ghana Empowers Local Artisans with Digital Skills through Social Media Marketing Training

In a bid to bridge the digital divide and equip local artisans with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age, MTN Ghana has trained 40 selected members in digital marketing, with a focus on social media marketing. The training, which targeted artisans including tailors, barbers, and hairdressers, was hosted at the VAG hall in Wa Municipality, aimed to empower these individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to capitalize on social media to reach a global market.

The training program was designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of social media marketing, including how to create engaging content, build a strong online presence, and leverage social media platforms to increase brand visibility and drive sales. The participants were taken through various modules, including social media strategy development, content creation, and paid advertising on social media platforms.

By equipping local artisans with digital skills, MTN Ghana is helping to unlock their potential and enable them to compete in the global market. The training program is part of MTN Ghana’s broader initiative to promote digital inclusion and support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana.

The training participants were drawn from various trades, including tailoring, barbering, and hairdressing. These artisans were selected based on their potential to benefit from the training and their willingness to leverage digital skills to grow their businesses.

MTN Ghana has been collaborating with various IT specialists to help empower various sectors in the Ghanaian community through the annual Yeloo Care which starts from June 1-21 every year.
