The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has been elected President of the African Parliamentarians’ Network Against Corruption (APNAC) at the organization’s 9th Biennial General Meeting held in Accra.

Accepting the role, Speaker Bagbin expressed humility and a steadfast commitment to promoting integrity in public life and combating corruption across the continent. He extended gratitude to the outgoing President and Board Members for their tireless service to the Network, acknowledging the strong foundation they have laid for the new administration to build upon.

“We remain thankful for their dedication, collective wisdom, and lasting contribution,” Speaker Bagbin stated. “I pledge to work with members to advance the vision and mission of APNAC, fostering unity and cooperation essential for strengthening parliaments, improving accountability, and building a continent where integrity is upheld as a standard practice.”

With this appointment, Speaker Bagbin is poised to drive APNAC’s efforts in promoting transparency and accountability in governance, leveraging his experience and leadership to make a meaningful impact in the fight against corruption in Africa.
