Hon. Peter Toobu Lanchene Urges Compliance with NDC’s School Feeding Programme Reforms

Hon. Peter Toobu Lanchene, the Wa West MP, has called for adherence to a recent directive from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) aimed at reforming the School Feeding Programme. The MP’s statement, posted on Facebook, responds to ongoing tensions and alleged attempts to undermine the party’s new guidelines. The directive, issued by NDC General Secretary Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey on May 30, 2025, follows a meeting with the Functional Executive Committee and regional leaders. It includes a ban on cross-border caterer allocations, a reduction of protocol-based allocations to 10%, and a mandate for a full audit to prevent abuse. An Implementation Team, led by Hon. Peter Toobu Lanchene, has been tasked with ensuring fair execution. In his post, the MP criticized those creating “unnecessary tension” through intimidation, urging them to respect the settled rules. “What interpretation again can you give to ‘Ban on cross-border allocation?’ Let’s stop the noise and do what is right,” he wrote, emphasizing the party’s effort to reset a previously chaotic system. He also cautioned against dragging others’ names into the dispute, calling for unity and understanding. The NDC’s reforms are intended to restore order and fairness, with regional monitoring teams set to oversee implementation.By: Adil Fuseini
