In a warm display of generosity and party solidarity, Hon. Alhaji Dasaana Ngminimaana S. Adamu, former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Wa West and current Regional Free Senior High School (Free SHS) Coordinator for the Upper West Region, has donated 62 bags of sugar and several cartons of sugar cubes to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Wechiau Constituency ahead of the ongoing Ramadan season.

The donation, made at the NDC’s constituency office in Wechiau, was handed over to the constituency chairman, Hon. Matthew Vaari, in a brief but heartfelt ceremony.

Speaking at the presentation, Hon. Dasaana described the gesture as his personal contribution — his “widow’s mite” — to support party members, supporters, and other stakeholders in the constituency as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.

“I want to ensure that our faithful complete their fasting successfully,” he said, adding that the season calls for acts of kindness, solidarity, and compassion towards one another.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the party, Constituency Chairman Hon. Matthew Vaari expressed deep gratitude to the former DCE, describing the gesture as both thoughtful and timely. He assured that the items would be distributed promptly to branch offices for onward delivery to the intended beneficiaries, ensuring the widest possible impact across the constituency.

This latest donation is not an isolated act of generosity for Hon. Dasaana. Ahead of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, he demonstrated similar commitment to the NDC by donating a large quantity of party paraphernalia, sample ballot papers, and campaign posters to support the party’s electoral drive.

Beyond materials, Hon. Dasaana went a step further by adopting the party’s communications wing for three months leading up to the elections. During this period, he single-handedly procured an MTN data router and fully financed the team’s data costs and other critical operational activities, ensuring that the NDC’s communication machinery in the constituency remained functional and effective throughout the campaign season.

The occasion also served as a platform for Hon. Dasaana to share a broader message with constituents. He urged the people of Wechiau to cultivate the spirit of forgiveness during this holy season, noting that both Muslims and Christians across the country are currently observing their respective periods of fasting and spiritual reflection.

He further called on religious leaders to offer prayers for peace and unity among the people, emphasising that a united community is better positioned to attract and harness the development it deserves.

Rounding off his day’s activities, Hon. Dasaana paid courtesy calls on the Paramount Chief of the Wechiau Traditional Council and the Chief Imam of the Wechiau Central Mosque. At both institutions, prayers were offered for peace, unity, and progress among the people of the area.
